You can ask us to delete data about you and your business at any time, in plain English. This page explains the three things you can delete, how to ask, what we remove right away, what we keep for legal or billing reasons, and how long the whole thing takes.

In a hurry?

Email privacy@sidekyk.ai with the subject line Data Deletion — <account> (replace <account> with your business name or WhatsApp number). Tell us whether you want to delete the whole account, one conversation, or one specific message. We will reply within two business days to confirm and walk you through the rest.

1. What you can delete

You can request deletion at three different scopes:

  • Your whole account and all associated data — your workspace, your Sidekyks' configuration, every conversation, every uploaded file, and your account profile.
  • A single conversation — every message, attachment, and AI output associated with one customer thread or one channel.
  • A specific message — one inbound or outbound message and any media attached to it.

2. How to request deletion

Until the in-product self-service deletion controls ship, requests are processed by email so we can verify the requester and confirm completion in writing.

  • Send the request to: privacy@sidekyk.ai
  • Use the subject line: Data Deletion — <account> — replacing <account> with your business name, the WhatsApp number associated with your SideKyk, or your account email.
  • Tell us the scope: whole account, a specific conversation (give us the customer name or WhatsApp number), or a specific message (give us the conversation and the rough timestamp).
  • Send the request from the email on the account. If that is not possible, we will ask one or two follow-up questions to verify the request — we do not want to delete the wrong person's data.

3. Deleting your whole account

When we delete an account, we remove the workspace and everything inside it: your Sidekyks' configurations, every WhatsApp conversation we have on file, every file your team produced, customer records you uploaded, and your account profile. We also revoke the SideKyk side of your WhatsApp Business connection so new messages stop coming through.

4. Deleting a single conversation

A conversation deletion removes every message in one customer thread — both inbound (from your customer) and outbound (from your Sidekyks), plus any attachments and any AI outputs derived from that thread. Your account, your other conversations, and your Sidekyks' configuration are untouched.

5. Deleting a specific message

A single-message deletion removes one message and any media attached to it. Surrounding messages, the rest of the conversation, and any of your Sidekyks' learned context about that customer that does not reproduce the message content, stay in place.

6. What we retain (and why)

Some information sticks around even after deletion, because we are legally required to keep it or because keeping it protects you and other customers. Specifically:

  • Billing records. Invoices, tax receipts, and payment confirmations — typically retained for 7 years to meet tax-law obligations.
  • Anti-fraud and abuse signals. A small amount of information (such as the fact that an account was closed and the date) — retained as long as needed to protect the Service, without identifying you in any product-facing way.
  • Backups. Encrypted backups cycle out within 90 days. Until they cycle out, your data may exist in a backup that we cannot selectively edit, but we do not restore deleted data into production.
  • Aggregated, non-identifying metrics. Statistical data that does not identify you (counts, totals, averages) may be retained for product analytics.
  • WhatsApp / Meta's records. Meta retains WhatsApp delivery metadata under its own policy; deleting from SideKyk does not delete from Meta. See WhatsApp's privacy policy.

7. Timeline

We aim to complete deletion requests within 30 days of receiving them. In most cases, the deletion itself happens within a few business days; the 30-day window covers verification, backup cycling, and confirmation. If your jurisdiction sets a shorter statutory deadline, we follow that instead.

If we cannot complete the request in time — for example, because we need to keep a record to comply with the law — we will tell you what we cannot delete and why.

8. We do not use your data to train models

To be clear, and to repeat what is in our Privacy Policy: we do not use your customer messages, workspace content, or anything else from your account to train shared, multi-tenant, or foundation AI models. Deleted data is not retained anywhere for training purposes — before deletion or after.

9. How we confirm completion

When the deletion is complete, we send you a written confirmation to the email you used to make the request. The confirmation states what was deleted, when, and what (if anything) was retained under §6 above.

10. Contact

Email privacy@sidekyk.ai for any deletion question or to follow up on an in-flight request. For broader privacy questions, see the Privacy Policy; for general terms, see our Terms of Service.
